F.A.Q's

Q: Will the PlasmaCar scratch wooden floors?

A: PlaSmart cautions against using PlasmaCars with standard wheels on hardwood floors. PlasmaCar wheels may damage some wooden floors. Please note that the PlasmaCar booklet warns that it is not recommended for use on wooden floors.

Q: How does the Original PlasmaCar® work?

A: The PlasmaCar can be propelled by wiggling the front steering wheel which is attached to two pivoting wheels touching the ground. It harnesses the natural forces of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction in order to drive the car forward and backward.

Q: Why won’t my PlasmaCar move when I turn the steering wheel?

A: Double check that the wheels and steering wheel were installed facing the right way. When the steering wheel is installed correctly, the single wheel should be centered in front and the two others in the back. When sitting on the PlasmaCar, the steering wheel should look like a butterfly shape, make sure it’s not upside down. Lastly, be sure that you’ve tightened the steering wheel as much as possible so that it is properly aligned. You may also watch the Assembly Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdnXeg6si2s

Q: Do I need to replace the wheels on a regular basis?

A: While it is never necessary to replace PlasmaCar wheels, there may be instances where people may wish to do so such as when the PlasmaCar has been used outdoors and the wheels become pitted and abrasive. In those cases, people may wish to replace wheels before bringing PlasmaCars indoors again during the winter. Standard replacement wheels may be purchased from PlaSmart by contacting us at customerservice@plasmacar.com.

Q: Can I replace the standard Polypropylene wheels with Polyurethane wheels?

A: Replacing standard PlasmaCar wheels with Polyurethane (PU) wheels is not recommended as it may present a pinching hazard. It is essential that replacement wheels comply with International safety regulations by NOT permitting children to place their fingers between the wheel-casings and wheels. We do also offer a different model of our PlasmaCar with Polyurethane wheels which you can find on our site.

Q: Do PlasmaCars come in different sizes?

A: No. The Original PlasmaCar was created for children 3+. Designed to support persons weighing up to 220 lb. on smooth, flat surfaces. PlasmaCars allow kids to re-discover and re-purpose their old PlasmaCars for races, tricks, and competitions. Adults, university students, and employee groups can hold PlasmaCar races for team-building and fund-raising purposes – proof positive that fun and magic still occur with the original ride-on toy!

Q: How do I tell if I have an authentic Original PlasmaCar®?

A: Look for the following: 1) PlasmaCar brand on the license plate at the rear of the seat; 2) PlasmaCar brand on the yellow steering wheel cap; 3) PlasmaCar branded sticker on the neck of the car; 4) Lebei Factory brand on bottom of car; 5) Patented safety seat has a raised back with three rectangular notches. Without the raised seat back, PlasmaCar would not pass CPSIA and EU stability regulations; 6) The front wheel assembly is engineered to be the most durable; 7) The rear wheel housing and axles are designed so that there is no pinching hazard for children who may put their hands near the wheels.

Q: How much does a PlasmaCar weigh?

A: The Original PlasmaCar weighs approximately 7.28 lbs.

Q: What are the age & weight restrictions for PlasmaCar?

A: The Original PlasmaCar® is safe for children ages 3 years and up, and can support up to a maximum of 220 lbs (100 kg) on smooth, flat surfaces.

Q: My PlasmaCar did not come with the instruction booklet, or I have misplaced it.

A: Please download a PDF version of the Instruction Booklet here: PlasmaCar Instruction Booklet.
